Sorry for the numerous posts....I now realize the backup lights are coming on in Neutral-any ideas on this? Or could this be a faulty switch?

It could be that the wires rubbed together right by the shifter and now the wires touch when you put it into neutral. I would check the wires that go right by the shifter first.

Mine just went out yesterday I think. It was fine but now at a stop light its out, but when you start driving it comes on and it will go off and on while driving.
