That I know of, the moon roof option is only available via the unicorn part. I'm pretty sure its as rare as the rear glass louvers, and I think (citation needed) it was a european option only.Comment

i have one. love it.
you need to know that there are 2 sizes of these moon roofs. depending on how lax BMW was in making your car. so you may end up finding one and it wont fit.
it's very easy to install, just unbolt yours with 6 torx, remove, install slider bolt in glass. an hour tops.Comment

Here's something I've thought up... it isn't as good as the real thing at all, but it serves the same functionality and gives at least a bit of the cool factor.
So maybe you go and get a big piece of plexi or acrylic at the appropriate thickness that's good and clear (could even tint it if you wanted though). You have it cut on a pattern you fab from an original sunroof, then put on the appropriate gasket to make it seal. Then add some sort of clip in system onto the panel so that you can drop it in and secure it. So then you get to keep your sunroof as is, but if you want you can slide it back and latch in a moonroof. Its not the same as having the real thing and having the real glass, and say you don't want light coming in the top of the car, you would have to stop, take out the panel, and then roll the sunroof back forward, and also its less resilient to scratches than the real thing, but the motor and rails and everything all stay in place with the original sunroof still active and on the car, its probably far cheaper than the real thing, and its just as, if not more secure than the real glass because plexi and acrylics don't usually shatter/take a hell of a beating before they break. A problem I don't know how to answer is how well the panel would hold up over a long amount of time to solar radiation, but water isn't a problem because this stuff is used for fishtanks lolComment

Just an FYI for anyone with a glass moon roof...
The epoxy used to bond the glass to the metal sliders will eventually dry out and lose it's hold. This happened to me - the bond on one of the sliders let go at speed. Picture one side of the glass flapping in the wind. Scared the crap out of me and my wallet. All I could picture was a $500 glass Frisbee flying through the air and shattering on the pavement.
Check this bond often. Any automotive glass shop will have the glass epoxy if you need to re-do this connection.lgb240

Thanks ... touring headliners are all fabric; they don't have the plastic front section that holds the sunroof switch or crank handle, sun visors and diagnostic led board.
The black 318is in the back ground is my old winter beater; since replaced by an e46xi touring.
The blue tarp is covering my street MGA. It's was on jack stands at the time for an engine transplant (modified 1800 MGB). My second MGA is a project car ... needs a full restoration. I have a 3rd MGA - a vintage race car. It's a 1956; it won it's class and came in 23rd overall at Sebring in 1957.
I think I saw you / your team at Beaver Run this year... I wasn't racing but crewing for some friends (MGA, BMW 2002).
