Those died out in the 80s for good reasons.
PRO: look sort of cool if you like Venetian blinds.
CON: They make it hard to clean the window.
They collect dirt and snow, and it's hard to clean the window,
They rattle on the window at speed, so the dirt gets streaky, and after a while they look like Venetian blinds.

I remember when those died out, and now I'm waiting for all this stretched poked slammed stance crap to die the same "Sort of cool if you don't mind destroying your car's utility" death.

Grump grump grump. Must be Monday.

I've had two cars with rear window louvers (92 Dodge Daytona IROC and 86 Dodge Daytona C/S) and the window was easy to clean due to the louvers are on a hinge and also have a prop rod and most other louvers on other cars I've seen are setup the same way. They did collect a little bit of dirt but was easy to clean unlike what you're saying. Also never had any noise from them either. Probably cause the fasteners where in working order and the rubber stops where in place.

Grant and Crager made them for USDM cars. My dad had them on his TransAm's from 69-87.

Rattled on my buddies Mustang. Was one of those things I didn't like. Celica Supra from about 77-83 had em too.
