I am looking at a dual purpose bike tomorrw after work, an 03 United Motors DS200. I was looking at regular dirt bikes, but for $1000 its hard to go wrong. Odd bike, tho, appraently United Motors is a Chinese company around since only 2001, and base their engine directly off Honda blueprints. Any feedback on these things?
Might be picking up a dual purpose bike...

My guess is that it will be lots of fun until it mysteriously breaks and you cant find parts for it anywhere. It will sit broken in your sideyard from that point forward.
I would buy a real bike, but that's just me. Chinese ripoff's scare me.

Those are my thoughts.... I ride an 04 Honda F4i, so I am used to a lot of power on a little bike, and with a budget of $1000 its hard to find anything decent with power for that price. I know the engine is a knockoff of a Honda, so if its like the Chiang-Jiang 750 (1938 BMW R75) than parts are more or less interchangable. But I do worry about parts availbility. But, for a grand, its a crap shot I think is worth it.01 325Ci
