    Owning a 323i e30

    What up peeps!
Noob here; I'm in the market for an e30 and I found a 323i on CL. Is the maintenance much different than what you'd expect with a 325i? On the same note, what are the differences between the 323i and the North American variations?

Hello! It's much the same thing, but some bits are different. The 323i has L-Jetronic management, which has a lot more failure points compared to Motronic. You're going to need to be timing the distributor and chasing vacuum leaks and endlessly dicking around with the idle control.

Other than that, there's not much else different. The rear wheel bearings are smaller than most NA e30s, the diff might be a weird small-case unit, and some interior trim is slightly different, but it's all resolvable. We have a pretty decent 323i collective here.

How difficult is it to make the swap from l-jet to motronic?

If I join the club I get a tramp stamp too, right?
