    Total Bitch

I just painted my VSR roll bar in the past 2 days. What a total bitch to get done. I just did a rattle can job because most of its going to be covered up by padding anyways, just need to fill the gaps.

I let it sit outside for a while and it got some surface rust on it, a little sanding took it right off though, no pitting or anything. Although when I got it in the mail it was already chewed up a bit.

    Before:

    After

It looks a lot better in person, the super dark spots is where I threw some more paint on, its impossible to get that center piece back on without scratching the paint all up.

I dont know if this is supposed to be bent like this though...

    It came like that

The center piece was TERRIBLE to get back in. I spent about 45 min trying to wrestle is all back together. I ended up using those cargo straps that you can tighten down to try and shift the center piece and outer hoop to line up.

    But its done!

    Deja vu.

I'm not sure what the deal is with that bottom mounting plate, but mine showed up f'd up as well. I straightened it out.

Snap, looks like your paint job got pretty beatup in the install process.

Did you run into any problems besides that plate? I plan on installing mine at the end of this week.

Did you get rubbing on the brake lines or anything? I hear someone say that they had to wrap them in fuel hose so it would chafe.

I installed the bolts "inverted", so that the nuts were inside the car, not on the bottom. this keeps the top of the bolt fairly close to the car, so i haven't seen any rubbing.

As for the paint, once I put padding on, I haven't even seen the paint.

          As for that bottom plate:
