Buy it, if anything, to keep it from being crushed.

Fucking cool car. I'd totally let it sit in my barn for 50 years with plans to restore it one of these days.

haha! i was on the nw side of town again today looking at a house to flip. i thought i would drive by there again and say hello to the guy that runs the lot.

turns out he is an old Czechoslovakian guy that has been there for years. he was actually a hoot. i took a pic of him with my cell on my way out the door. i guess he is kind of lonely because he wanted to talk my ear off. i would have stayed longer, but i was late for my appointment. i am going to go back there one day and spend 3 or 4 hours shooting the shit with him. i really like this guy. i think i might adopt him as a grand dad i never had.

Here is some history of the car according to its owner:

he has owned it for over 20 years he says. the original engine was no good so he took it out, thew it away and replaced it with the 6 banger that sits in it presently. i took a look at the motor mounts and they are definitely fabricated by some backyard shop. no way that m30 came with this car. the drivers seat is in the car as is the center console. of course they are all in really bad shape. the trunk is full of various random car parts. i didn't recognize any of them as being originally attached to this car. as i mentioned earlier, the car is rustier than it looks in anthony's photos. those areas where the paint is peeled away are not just surface rust. they are rust holes all the way through the metal(everywhere). the car looks like something you would see in michigan after 40 years of driving on salty winter roads.

last but not least: he knows what he has. he wants 40 grand for it. he thinks it is worth 300,000 once its restored. i guess it will be sitting there until his estate is settled by his heirs.

oh....and by the way....seems it has already been discovered a few times:

(it still had its bumpers back to 2008 )

note the "glas" emblem on the chalk board behind him.

yeah he was definitely a cool guy. told me my car needed new shocks because it was "too low". i told him i did that on purpose and he kind of looked at me like why? hahah he definitely has some character. i stopped on my lunch break so i didnt have much time to talk to him. i didn't even ask him for a price since i can barely afford the McDonald's dollar menu but his lot was very ecliptic so he must of been a car guy. there was a mustang and a couple of old 50's chevys in the back. did you happen to see the citroen in the back? looks like a bubble. All in all he seems like a cool guy with a few stories up his sleeve, he drives pretty quick too hahah

              That's a Citroen SM.

They came from the factory with a Maserati V6. They're worth upwards of $50K these days. It has US spec headlights, so I'm going to suggest it started out at a 1973 2.7L, as there was no 1974 model for the states and the 1975 came as a 5spd only.

This is guy literally murdering cars in his yard.

That green Glas for sale in Germany has been around since 2002. Nearly 250K views on it, I'm going to go ahead and suggest they're not worth that much.

Take the engine out and shove it in an e30.

There were two or 3 of them sitting on that lot. I called the number in the ebay ad to chat with the seller. He said they are still sitting there but he is trying to buy them too.

My knowledge of french automobilia is limited to a renault fuego i had in high school. However, my perception of cars from that country isnt very high.
