I Hit The JY Jack Pot!
I didn't want to bother paying for shocks, hub, ect. Plus the car had been there for maybe 3 weeks? I got them out yesterday, my vert will be happy! Now just waiting on shocks which where shipped out 2 days ago.Leave a comment:

I just found some H&R sports today and like you, I only had time to remove the rears. Going back for the fronts tomorrow!Leave a comment:

I wouldn't say jackpot, but I found a nice set of OEM premium speakers, minus the front door tweeters. Upgraded from stock speakers. For $20, it was a great upgrade. Those E30 Premiums are amazing, compared to the stocks.
E30s are getting hard to find in the junkyards of Ontario, Canada these days. :( Kijiji is a better source for used parts I'm finding.Leave a comment:

Thanks man!take the three nuts off the upper strut mount. take the nut off the bottom of the sway bar mount where it connects to the control arm. step on the control arm and pull the top of the strut/spring assembly so that you have the top part outside the fender. grab a pair of big ass channel locks (maybe 16"?) get the strut retaining nut loose(may not be easy.) you can reach inside the spring to get to the nut.
at this point you need to be really really careful. the spring is under a load on the strut. carefully unscrew the strut retaining nut and stay out of the way of the business end of the spring. when it unscrews, the spring and strut will go flying out of the housing. they don't go too far, but the tension is probably enough to break a finger/or perhaps a wrist if you are in the way.
if you have the right tools as mentioned above, you can get them out in about 10-15 min/side.Leave a comment:
