    Interesting Anti-theft measures

Anyone have any funny ideas or stories about people who have come up with creative ways to keep their stuff safe?

One I can share is something my dad did on his 67 Mustang when we were living in Oakland in the 80's.

In addition to installing a high-end car alarm at the time, he wired it so the ignition switch would not turn the starter unless the radio was on. He figured that's the last thing a potential thief would do. The car never got stolen at least.

Take the hookups off the battery.

A lot of British car guys will install a battery cut off switch, but then put a low amp resetable circuit breaker across it so that it would keep your radio from resetting. If you tried to start the car with the switch off, it would pop the breaker and still not start the car.

when i lived in El Paso
i would interrupt one side of the coil thru a toggle switch hidden.
you get in spin the motor up crank all day wont fire
cost about 1.50 for a nice switch and some wire run in and out of the cabin
          cheap effective.
