has anyone ever restored the oem bmw flashlight?

perusing the jy last week, i found 2 of those white rechargable flashlights. they are in great physical shape, but of course the batteries are shot! i have been tinkering with one of them a bit trying to take it apart with plans to replace the battery and put an LED in place of the factory bulb. it seems to be glued together.

my question is has anyone restored one and if so, how did you get it apart without destroying it?

by the way, for those of you in the houston area, there is a really nice '90 735i in a jy off 249. i guess it would be an m30b35. it was complete a few days ago. i pulled off the oil cap and the inside of the engine looked really pretty and well cared for.

They pry apart pretty easily. I have two sitting on my deck, apart, waiting for me to get batteries for them. There is a writeup somewhere where someone found the proper batteries, or the next gen, and used them. Still rechargeable too.

Don't see why an LED couldn't be used.

I wish I could get lenses.....one of mine is warped and fogged to shit.

they are kind of hit and miss lately. mostly miss.

the one with the 735 is a pick your own part type of jy. it is on 249 about 4 or 5 miles west of 45 on the south side of the road. there is a pawn shop in a strip mall across the road from it. i can't remember the actual name of the yard.
