Build Sheet Code 0944?

So I was bored this morning and decided to read over my build sheet. There's an option listed as "Code 0944" with a description of "later modification by ZS".

    Anyone know what this is?

edit: A more thorough search reveals it refers to a BMW Individual mod. Must figure this out...

Do you know where your car was sold originally?

I suspect it may have to do with a weather package. I say this as Z can mean south. But the S is confusing.

There are also multiple threads out there, via Google, that have never solved this question.

        Edit:

According to http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...-abbreviations ZS means power locks.

Here's the list of SA codes with their definitions:

I was playing around with this month's ETK (it is a completely different package from the old ETK) and seeing what it had to offer. One of the interesting things is a complete list of option codes that have been offered. Since many times people here ask "what is an option Sxxxx" or "what is the...

A later Vehicle History Report I have from 2008 shows Code 0841. This was the "Fly & Drive" option-basically, early European Delivery.

            See post from bimmerforums:

Bronzit/nature tan leather – shadow line trim & mirrors – Hartge logo’s front & back.
            · US Spec. 325ia car prepared by Hartge in Germany – delivered through the “Fly & Drive” program that began in 1987. Build sheet code #0841.
            · Low mileage 113K – 5200 miles/year - always adult owned/driven.
            · Recent mechanical & restoration.

The vehicle was purchased new by Mr. Jung through Vasek Polak BMW in Hermosa Beach, Ca. The original service booklet & manual verify. My Jung picked out his options & order/pay for the car.The German plant would send the vehicle to Hartge Mfg. to have the options installed.
Being in the “Fly & Drive” program (started by Porsche). The buyer would fly over to Germany, take delivery at the plant, drive around Europe for a time, drop the car back at the plant, where the manufacturer would ship the car to the US dealer.

Code 0944 is "subsequent modification by Individual" Which according to this post (translated from German-sorry) was then M Technik:

"Individual " always automatically at times of the E30 was a mandate for the M-Technik GmbH, assuming the M-Technik GmbH was able to meet the request. My E30 convertible has a Vollederausstattung in silver grey similar to - not equal - a M3 Convertible, which but to the normal price list never existed. In the "Geburtsurkunde" thus there: special equipment in accordance with "Sonderwunsch by M-Tech GmbH", without any order. So there was the opportunity to order special requests for reappointment at the BMW dealer, then carried the M-Technik GmbH, i.e. the M-Technik GmbH was commissioned by BMW AG as and delivered according to special treated vehicle after carrying out of the order again to BMW back, which in turn then passed the vehicle to the dealer for delivery to the customer. Then again there in the new car invoice: additional performance by M-Technik GmbH DM 8.550,-. That will probably be this Vollederausstattung.

Need to do more research and post results later. Must prepare heroin-tainted apples for the trick or treaters.
