    Inspection

So I went to get my car inspected and my bumper is a little bit broken on the left side, and they wouldn't even inspect my car for me because it's "a safety thing". My bumper has a plastic shell and then a metal inside, and only the plastic is messed up. I was very surprised to hear this. Anyone ever failed / been turned away for something that seems insignificant?

seems like your state/county is very strict. most of my cars would fail over half of the criteria on inspection. most places I go just check signal light, headlights, and horn.

Man... that is AWESOME. After I bought the car I drove it around and passed 3 cops and no one pulled me or anything. The guy at the shop was like "When you get pulled over and they see that your inspection sticker came from us we are in trouble because your bumper is broken, everything is supposed to be "just like it came out of the factory"". Maybe it's just MA being MA

I have taken the same car to two different inspection stations and gotten completely different lists of things that need to be fixed. What some fail to tell you is not all items on their list are necessary to pass inspection. Having said this I get historical tags on all my E30's and avoid needing an inspection. >20 yrs. in MD to be concidered historical.
