Shipping a E30 what company to use?

soo I am looking into having an e30 shipped across the country, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing. Anyone have any stories of the good/bad experiences they have had, who they have used and how much they payed. I am looking to go AZ to CT

If you care about the car pay the money and used an enclosed carrier. If you dont, Use Uship or any of the other contract carriers and gamble. They are all hacks

No matter who you choose make the actual carrier fax's you current insurance certificates. Many of these guys run without insurance and youre fucked if something happens. I just had a nice rust free shell shipped to NY and the driver hooked a cable to the core support and pulled the car sideways and ripped the core support. Realize that a carrier is only as good as the driver caring for your car. Insist on a current insurance certificate

My company uses Plycar - they seem to be the safest I've seen for enclosed.

I recently shipped a car from west coast to east coat using Dependable Auto Shipping (DAS). This was my first car shipping experience - not impressed at all. They marred up the underside, dinged the front bumper, and bent the lip of the BBS rim. I will be working through the claims process with them next week and we will see if they are willing to repair anything - I'll keep folks posted.

This guy is a bimmerforums member, he shipped my sons S50 Swapped E30 and my Mini Pickup and did great both time with great prices and good delivery times.

You pay part by CC to him the rest in cash to the driver upon delivery. FYI both cars came to me in Florida from Texas and both cost me around $400-$500.

Update on DAS

I have worked through the claims process with DAS and can report that it was a complete waste of time. Basically they acknowledge bending the lip of the rim, but said that there is a $250 deductible on damage. The ding on the front bumper, if it is less than 2 inches, considered normal wear and tear. The dings and mars under the car, all normal wear and tear. Basically they will not accept responsibility for anything. So, for me, this was my first and most likely my last experience shipping a car (definitely with DAS). I would be very reluctant to ship a car ever again. Next time, I will invest in an airline ticket and drive the vehicle home.

There are some reputable shippers out there but you do have to do your homework and research as a lot of these guys (as previously mentioned) are hacks. When I shipped my coupe, I used montway's enclosed carrier and had pretty good results from them. But it is a toss up.

yep. The buyer of my M2 paid big money for an enclosed carrier and it was perfect upon arrival. You get what you pay for in this type of deal

I used Montway to ship an E30 from Tacoma to Maryland. Montway is just a broker so the truck who really hauled the car was Best West Express. $1300 for fully enclosed and it arrived in perfect shape and in perfect time about a week later. The Russian truck driver was a pretty funny guy too. Ask for him if you can haha.

I used DAS last year to ship my '92 325ic from Southern Cal to Nashville, TN. I was fortunate and didn't run into any problems but I could definitely see where some people could. Drop off and pickup locations for DAS are super sketchy. Imagine the worst impound/tow yard you've ever seen located in the worst part of town...
