    How rare is this?

I dont know if Ive mentioned it before or not on this board but my '88 iS has a moonroof instead of a sunroof. I had heard initially that this was only a euro option, and is very rare in the US, but im very skeptical about that. Heres a pic from when i first got the car

-yes, im aware there is a gigantic hole in my seat bolster :? [/img]

I'll trade you 2 good leather front cardinal sport seats for that moonroof.

The moonroof is a custom job.

A guy local to me has one and he looked at the recipts that came with the car and he found out that someone paid 5k to get it installed, i think i could be wrong.

        You are.
        It was a factory option.

            Langsten's offer is excellent.

They sell on the bay as a complete kit to install for about $500

                Let me clarify first....
                1. My seats are not immaculate. There might be some wear on the drivers bolster. I cant recall, its been over 2 months since i last saw my car. Besides that, they are fully intact.
                2. If its a legit BMW factory moonroof I'm interested.

                Cheers,
                Chris

Im sure theyre better than the ones Ive got in their now, Im still not sure what I want to do though, after seeing matt325is' seats I am thinking of going that route. I am interested though so I'll definately let you know.

I highly doubt that its a custom job, as the car was 100% stock when i got it and has been all its life. If someone can provide me with some info on how I can prove this thing is OEM id appreciate it

You should probably be able to find an imprinted rounel on it if it's OEM.

A customer I knew awhile back had one on his 87 325is. I think his was aftermarket, but it was also pretty annoying since there was no cover to block the sun. Hope yours has one.

There is an 90 325i 4 door up here at a BMW Mechanics yard that has the Glass moonroof on it. I'd keep it if it was me, unless you need $500.
