The Official* 2015 Formula 1 Thread!

    *Thread is not official yet.

As is customary, the first pictures of this coming season's F1 cars have started popping up so I thought it was a good time to start the thread!

First up is Williams with the FW37. F1 has done some odd trickery that isn't allowing me to upload photos of the car, so check this link:

    Got some!

Here is the new Lotus E23, powered by Mercedes:

Ferrari will be releasing images of the SF15-T in the next few days as well!

I'm pretty curious to see how the motor situation is going to pan out, with this ridiculous "cookie" rule and the inclusion of Honda once again.

I'm with Lauda: Give us quadruple-digit power figures and to hell with fuel consumption in top-tier auto racing!

I think the Lotus looks really sharp, and I hope the combination of a good motor package and a more effective chassis will help them get competitive again.

The new engine will help but I think Pastor is going to have the spare parts bin empty all season again!

I'm excited about that pairing as well, but I'm not so sure Honda is going to be able to get up to speed right away, especially with this cookie thing. Hopefully I'm wrong, because the series deserves a close fight between multiple manufacturers. Either way, I think Honda will figure it out as soon as the regs allow.

McLaren-Honda is back! The MP4-30 has been released!

Here's McLaren's (kind of large) promo shots:

                But here's the important one:

Now that's a good looking car, even if I wish it was white. I wonder if they would ever go back to orange...

Ferrari have also released the SF15-T!

They believe the motor will be a better balance of qualifying and race performance, and they're aiming for a whopping two race wins this season.

One more: The Sauber C34 has been released with brand-new national livery and hopefully a bit more performance:

I'll be curious to see how the super-young driver lineup works out this season.

Honda is very smart. They could have entered last year, and done well, but a year behind May be a problem in the beginning. but if you see the tech integrated into their road cars like I did when I was selling them, they make the best V6 hands down. Plus their new NSX integrates a lot of stuff I've seen from last years f1 cars, which leads me to believe their racing division has some even crazier shit then their road car will have.

                          Sneaky sneaky

Interesting predictions in your other post... ;)

I'm nervous the videos with engine noise may have as much to do with the noise being uninspiring as keeping any secrets...but here's to hoping.

What's rubbing you the wrong way? I think the livery is a bit too reminiscent of their West days, but other than that I think the shape is pretty well-formed.

As far as aesthetics go, 2014 car was Williams, for 2015 is surely the Lotus, the best looking car out there. I'm predicting Mercedes, Williams, Maclaren, Redbull, Ferrari as the top five this year. Almost forgot to mention how weird caster/camber looks on that Sauber.
