See I think they sound weird, eye catching, but weird. They sound like that throughout the revs, kinda like a whistle tip but high class. I don't think engine tuning or a performance exhaust has anything to do with it, they engineered it to sound different. Well shit I guess I can respect that..... but the e46 doesn't sound mean until you really want it to.

well its a V6, so it's going to sound different, but yeah, i'm sure the nissan folks did it on purpose, and I think it works. Hell, Porsche has engineers who's only job is exhaust sound tuning. And hearing a Cayenne V8 take off, they are worth the salary

I hope I am not the only one, but I like it. Don't know why but I do prefer the Stronumg (spelling) over all exhaust tones though, especailly on our cars.
