My mom's the troll. Mike, unfortunately you and some other members have seemed to overlook the reason behind this post. I do not want to buy the sentra. I own two E30's and am in the process of gathering everything I need for an M30 swap and some OT for one of them.

The problem is that my mom see's me investing all of this time and money into a car which's shape resembles that of what you'd find in a box of leggos. I just wanted a list of facts explaining why the E30 is in fact the ultimate driving machine in comparison to a sentra.

P.S. My check engine light has been on for two years.
        Oh. well in that case....

We could give you a bunch of technical jargon, but that doesnt work to well with mothers, trust me.

fool proof way to sove problem at hand:

find someone with a sentra. bring mama along. put mama in passenger seat. take her for a nice ride around in the sentra. then put mama in e30 passenger seat. and take her for a nice ride around in the e30. (the secret is to really drive each car if you knowhamsayin.) or better yet, have mama drive for herself.

if the difference between the cars is not evident by that point, don't know what to tell you.

Yea, I guess you're right huh. She'll just have to see for herself once I get the 335i running.

OP, if you don't know the difference between an e30 and a Sentra, you don't even have 1% of the knowledge needed to accomplish an engine swap.

Indeed. Especially to a non-enthusiast like his mom.

But which is better? For what? Both are popular cars for cheap Auto-X cars, well... E30s used to be cheap. The E30 is nicer on the inside and RWD but a SE-R is still a good motorsport platform:

A B13 SE-R slaughtered me constantly when I started out. A SR20 is reasonably nice in a car that light, compared to having one in my old G20. Still, it's no I6...

We then went on to cite the SE-R as the best evidence we’d seen to date that something we’d wanted for years—BMW 2002 punch at a Datsun price—had at last become a reality.

I know plenty about E30s, just nothing about Sentras.

This is good enough for me, but my mom loves Acuras.. Idk why she can't just accept that BMW is the best :hitler: I think she's a hipster.

Well, that's with an SR20. I was looking for an out of the box comparison to keep things simple.

DOHC straight-4? So the SE-R was essentially a chinese knock off E30 M3 huh?

Ok, now you're making this into a slightly more legitimate question...stahp

It's too late. With a $599 donor car and FrankM's swap guide, I'm already heavily invested in this swap.

Thanks. I've been doing so much reading I just want to get some goodies to play with already. Ever get that bench seat in your swap? Pretty rad idea.

See. I know nothing about Sentras, or even Nissan for that matter. I guess I was thinking of the turbo'd version.
