there is this guy that domintes the CORR off road racing series that is in a wheelchair, he is fucking badass. he controls the wheel with one hand and in the other he has a lever that controls the throtle when pushed forward, and the brake when pulled back. he just goes WAY deep into every corner, slams the lever back for a second piching the truck sideways then throtles through the corner. its pretty sick to watch, that guy has my respect for sure.
Hits a little close to home for me. I spent ever other weekend at the track growing up. Dad was a weekend SCCA racer. There always seems to be a guy in a wheel chair that everyone knew, everyone loved, everyone glad to see.
Then you asked what happened - and people tell you the "story" of turn 3...
Later I got into karting - and I saw the same things.

i work at my bmw dealer,
and i had a 540i come in probly a 2000 or so and it had these crazy controls.
It had a motorcycle grip for throttle. And push the big arm forward for brakes. it was really weird to drive. and you need to twist the handle really far for full throttle.
