Anyone ever ship a dash or set of door cards?

Hey like the title said, I have some large items to ship.
Im no noob to shipping, but these larger items seem like a different ball game.
I was just looking to see how you did it.

Who did you use? fedex, USPS, UPS, or greyhound.

    What the price was like?

And if there were any tips/tricks and suggestions like absolutely get insurance or something.

    Thanks.

I've shipped things as big as door cards and it's not crazy expensive but pack them very well because they will get crushed and ruined. Even with insurance you're SOL unless you packed them like a bomb shelter. I know people that have worked for UPS and they've seen packages get crushed, kicked, thrown, left out in the rain and treated like shit in general. I've never used greyhound, but have used the others and it's all the same really.

I did some heavy speakers and vintage stereo equipment and it was $40-$60 and they were in boxes about door card size. They weighed way more than door cars though.

Oh I guess this would be important; did you have a box or did they get one for you?

I bought shipping boxes from staples for the speakers, had to do some funky box surgery because the speakers were so big. The stereo I bought a box from the UPS store that I shipped it at. I think they were $10-$15 and packing materials were another $10.
