      Shame the race was banned after a few wrecks.. Racing like that will never come back either.

      OT: Nice looking wheels. They would be pretty trick on a slammed 2002 or something.

                Shame? I guess. Inevitable? Absolutely. Impossible race to run, even by the early '60s. I'm surprised the Targa Florio made it as far as it did.

                                It still runs, but is more a time trial than a race. But, it runs on public roads, through villages etc and they don't hang about. It was on last week's Classic Car Show, Jodie Kidd driving a Jag XK120 prepared by Jag's own heritage fleet. They cover the 1000 miles in 3 days, driving 16 hours on day 2. All cars are classics, most make the full distance.
