    AMSOIL

I recently filled my M10 with AMSOIL 5w30.

I've heard that it's really high quality synthetic. On the back of the bottle they claim that it lasts for 25k miles between changes. Should I believe this? With fully syn I usually go 5-7k between changes. For $6/quart I'm hoping that it'll last 25k :D .

yeah up to 25k in NEW cars. Check their websites. that's the caveat with the other synth manufacturers.

I wouldn't do more than about 12k, personally.

some people swear by AMSOIL, others swear by REDLINE, others by Mobil 1.

I dont care what the bottle says, I'd never run an oil for 25k.

25k picks up a lot of crap in the oil, take a look at those tiny oil filters these cars run.

I run Mobil 1 in the Ti for about 7-8k intervals, the 'is 2-3k, (6-month).

          I run 5-W30 Mobil 1 in the e36 M3. I go 6-7k.

Changed the oil 3 times now, all 3 times it was still amber, and clean...not black.

Yeah, I figure I'll go about 6-8k. Which will probably be the beginning of June or so...

I run Redline and Amsoil. Both are very high quality!!!

I do believe you can run it for a year or more. They do recommend you change the oil filter every 6months.

I have been getting oil analysis done for the past year, every time, they tell me that it should not be replaced, but I do.

Also, you should run a engine flush threw the car if you plan on a long drain interval.

If you think $6 a qt is expensive stay away from the Series 2000 & 3000 Amsoil!! Redline retails for $9 a qt.

Yeah, I saw that! They had some 5w20 that I was looking at... then I checked the tag. $8.99/qt.
