    DEQ Results

Had my car tested for DEQ today for the first time. I've never lived where I needed to do this until now, so I know nothing about it. I'm curious what the numbers indicated and what my specific numbers tell about the car.

    HC (PPM) - 84
    CO% - .0628
    CO+CO2 (%) - 14.6

That's all they tested and everything was checked at idle. The guy at the shop said the numbers looked good, but I'm curious why/how do they look good.

Car is an M50tu powered E34.

    Thanks!

I know in regards to HC (PPM), it's hydrocarbon parts per million. Hydrocarbons are unburnt fuel and oil and the lower the number the better. Idk what Oregon requires but I think it's usually required to have a number around 50-60 for older cars

CO is carbon monoxide levels. Again the lower the better. A .06 is actually really good as far as I know. I think a crap motor will be like a 1.0/2.0+. I did some research on this stuff before

Hydrocarbons have to be lower than 220 in the great state of Oregon.
