    I know, it's a joke, but........

I think you mean the 91' M Technic cabrio. All (175-225) were built in 4/91 in the three colors stated above - the silver was the salmon silver. Most were automatics - this was a trial baloon by BMW to see if a cabrio with M suspension, aero effects, leather/evo M3 cloth interior would sell..............It was a $4500 option over the standard E30 325i cabrio. They ended up with a sticker price of $40,000 + (more expensive than the M3). They did sell all of them, finally, but the high price was the killer. For '92, they then made, the special run of 1000 all white/white interior M Technic cabrio's (lowered the price, [ less - M3 suspension & cloth/leather combo interior]) also, mostly automatics. This model also known as the "chick car".

The 91' (any of the 3 colors)with 5 speed is probably the rarest at probably less than 25 each. A 92' white/white with 5 speed is still very rare with probably less than 200 built.

Is this the 93 that you crashed? Bimmerista found it on e bay

If it's your car there could be 29 left...if not there may be 28? or yours could have been the last survivor? I'm guessing theres at least twenty still alive?

Not really, just looks stupid. You're combining two languages.

That is exactly what I'm looking for. Where are those cars? how many of 500 are left. Those will be/are collectors items. I garuntee one of those Evo's has something the other 500 don't? making it the rarest. So far I think the m3 pick up truck may be winning? Does anyone have a pic of the real/black one and know if it still exists? Would love to see more concept cars/prototype e-30's that never made it into production and would like to know if they survived? Also would love to hear about mass produced e-30's that have some rare option, like the glass sunroof or.....

I also agree that a stock well maintained e30 is getting rarer and rarer these days...I have one...but it will be getting suspension and brakes soon.

You want some rare E30's? Here, have a look at these.

E30 M3 Sport EVO. 500 made by BMW Motorsport. Suede M-Tech II steering wheels, Recaro seats with ///M cloth inserts, red seat belts, the works.

E30 M3 Cecotto Edition. 505 made by BMW Motorsport. Included black-center 16" basketweaves, signed and numberd plaques, and some came with grey leather wrapped dashboards and consoles.

E30 M3 Cabrio. Somewhere around 700 or so made. One of THE most sought after, rarest and most expensive E30's around.

    Getting Rare

    Thanks for all the replies!

This is what I was trying to get at. I'm just wondering what oddball E-30's are out there. Would love to know how many of each are out there, see some pictures, maybe an approximate value? And why you believe this car is the rarest/ most collectible E-30 out there. I dig E-30's and believe that collector interest in some rare E-30's could one day lead to our cars becoming more valuable/appreciated to non e-30'ers, as time goes on and more of these rust away in junk yards there will be less and less and they'll become like an old 356 and people may seek them out like old muscle cars, 15 years ago they were beaters and now there priceless. I'm just wondering what e-30 will be the most sought after in twenty years?

As far as the Diamond Schwarz mistake that was me. Although I've had my car since 91 and my friend had one in 86 I am still a newbie in E-30 terms/knowledge. To you hardcore Diamontschwartz fans I apologize for my blasphemy.

Please post pics and stats of what you think is the rarest E-30 ever. How many are left? Why/how was it made? Why do you think it's the rarest?

    Thanks

Yea, that one is (also note the 4-lug wheels), I have seen pics of a real one that BMW did as a marketing spoof, it was black but I can't seem to find the pic right now...
