Ok the guy called back today and told me he has to wait for advice from his boss, since he hit me with the company truck. He is asking him whether or not the boss wants to cover my damage or let it go through insurance. He is supposed to call me tomorow with the answer.
I really want to get the most out of this, and I really don't know anything about accidents. I would like to keep my title clean, unless its worth taking the salvaged title for ($$$!)...then i always have my parts car that i can pull vin's off of and weld em on..clean title again--'89 to '87 325is? I am lost here and don't know what to do. Please Advise.

careful man, not a good idea. Who cares about a salvage title unless you plan on selling it? My winter Jeep is salvage - nice truck, I'll never sell it so I don't care.

The trick there is to go to 3 high end shops that do nothing but BMW and Mercedes or better yet - Exotics. Then submit the 3 quotes that you received for the damage and expect to recieve the middle one.

Keep your title clean, trust me. When my friend mis-navigated my car into a tree the damage estimate was $4500 and they claimed the value of the car at $3500 and tried to declare it a total. I figured I would just go that route and live with a salvage title until I found out that they would NOT sell the car back to me. Eventually I convinced them to give me $3500 and let me keep the car with a clean title at which point I got the car fixed for a whopping $1700 which included upgrades to the suspension and repairing all the random body rust. Granted my car is not as straight as I'd like it now but it's worth more than when I bought it and in theory I have an extra $1800 dollars lying around somewhere. If only I could remember where I put it...
Good luck man, keep us posted!'89 325is S50 Track Montser

If you have not filed a Police report you need to get ahold of your witness and have it filed PFQ.
