Car cover fitment with a roof rack?

I really want to get a car cover since I only drive it on weekends and it sits out in the baking california sun all the time now. However I have a roofrack with 2 bike trays on it and I'm concerned they will cause serious fitment issues and potentially damage to the cover. Any one have first hand experience with this? The roof rack stays since most of what I do on the weekends is go ride my bike places.

    Pics for clicks.

If you have any kind of wind, it tears them up. Remove them if you want to cover it. Keep them on if you don't. Go ahead and run a cover if you don't mind it lasting less than a year. Or park it in a garage and zero worries!

When you order a custom-fit cover from Covercraft you can specify accessories that are on the car, I imagine with some basic measurements they can make something that will fit.

As for wind, you may be able to get some cheap clamps from harbor freight to help keep it from blowing so much, just an idea.

Not everyone has the means to park in a garage, especially not here in SoCal where everything is stupid expensive.

Not only will the wind tear up the cover, it'll also wreak havoc on the paint. I wouldn't run one.

I think you should be fine. I have a nice noah material cover and it ha plenty of extra material to cover my reiger lip and longer racing dynamics valence. It won't damage your paint as long as it is tight to the car and isn't extremely dirty aka keep your car clean before the cover goes on.

I have the OEM Noah cover as well and I most certainly don't think you'll have enough material to cover down the sides. My cover doesn't reach all the way to the ground without anything on the roof and I only have the MTech 1 spoiler and the IS lip. It's dark here, but I'll remember to take a pic for you tomorrow morning showing the fitment.

Definitely what mrcheezle said though, keep it clean before applying the cover and you'll be fine, I always tie each eyelet under the car to keep it from flapping around too. Usually just wipe down with Meguiars Quik Detailer before putting the cover on.

Sorry for the delay, here's how my cover sits with only the MTech1 spoiler.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I get the impression a roof rack is a no-go with a cover then. I don't want to spend good money and only get a year or so out of it. My problem is the car is brilliantrot and was already badly faded when I bought it, a hell of a good polishing and a few touch up's over the years has left the paint very thin in some spots and already through in a few places. I have no more material to polish and even regular waxing the fading has been steadily creeping back in. I do not have access to a garage or could afford the added monthly expense at this point...no idea what to do, haha.
