When is it a Project Car? (Advice Sought)

I have desires to make my 89 vert into an ACS tribute/copy. Ideally an M30, everything refreshed to OEM+ with ACS bits.

At what point do I just park the car in the garage and rip it all apart and rework, refresh, touch everything

    OR

Keep driving it and do things here and there.

I have new springs and shocks coming in. I am thinking while there rework all.. new bushings, CAs,etc.

Those with project cars... how did you decide?

Really it depends on the original condition of the car and how far you want to go with it. I bought a nice stock one, and built it up from there while driving. I have also had cars where I strip it down to the shell and start from scratch.

I don't like my vert dd to go down for very long. About a month at a time is all I can stand. But a lot can be done in a month. A lot can also be done on the workbench while the car is still on the road as well.

I think my plan is to junkyard find the parts I want to replace..I gain the knowledge in searching for and removing the part, can redo it all on the bench, and then minimal downtime once ready to install.
