    California Title/Info

Hi, my brother purchased a 1984 GTI from California for his son . He received the Title and it only has one signature , signed where it releases interest in the vehicle. It looks like it requires a second signature below to certify the mileage . Is the second signature required in the state of California? Possibly not required due to the mileage and age (120k mileage). Car will be registered in NJ. thanks Tom

You go by NJ law, not CA law, so:
Needs seller signature releasing ownership (Bill of sale is a nice bonus if you have it)
Sign title and include your drivers license number
Bring in title with proof of insurance to MVC, apply for ownership transfer
      Pay $60

I called the California DMV and was told a vehicle after 10 years of age does not require a signature for the mileage. thanks
