i dont think the M20B25 changed compressions ratios in any form of the engine, but someone can feel free to prove me wrong.
I know german specs have higher CR, I will find the info, I'm almost sure, other proove is, that the euros 325i are a lot faster than US, said it, cuz we have both models in my country...and the german will smoke the US by far...it's ajusta nother engine...believe me..
No, no it really isn't.
The m20b27 motor (eta) recieved some higher comp pistons than it's US counterpart, but the only difference between the US & European spec m20b25's was the lack of a cat on certain Euro models. They were rated at 171 hp vs 168.

Yes really it is,
not the 1.1 and 1.3 motronic tough, but the Motronic 1.0 Basic found in the 325i ยด86 is 9.4/9.7 compression
true or not true about the same or higher CR, the euro can easily smoke the US, isay again cuz I don't think is just the ecu and most important the CAT can do big different, I took out my cat and ran my car, guess what, couldn't compare with the german e30...no way...not sure what other difference are..

Aaron, they still read from left ot right dont they?
I dont know...do they? :D
I was just thinking that it was awkword to have to reach across for first gear. Yet, they (righthand drivers) probably think the same of our US spec cars. 8)
