    VW Rabbit?

So I was looking into buying a new daily driver because being a poor college kid, its hard to afford my e30 right now.... i looked into buying a rabbit because they get a little better gas, insurance is a lot cheaper, and i could pocket some money off downgrading from my e30 to a rabbit... i saw this one on vwvortex.com and the guy ended up posting it here too:

his price has dropped to 1500, and i figure after fixing the things mentioned and general maintence, it would probably run me close to 2500ish. I'm pretty sure i can get about 3200 + for my car, so that would be some nice money to help pay for classes, books, etc... What do u guys think? Anyone had experiences with a rabbit or vw in general?

    :(^SOLD^:(

I had a rabbit for about 5 or 6 years back in the late 80's early 90's. I loved it! Bought it with 10,000 miles on it and sold it with 145,000 on it. Then saw it in the Autotrader like 4 years later still running strong (according to the ad.) Was an awesome car, no problems at all, easy to work on/maintain, bulletproof, still had original clutch when I sold it. Handled like a go cart with everything Neuspeed you could buy for it. Got great gas mileage, too.

Only drawback was I had it so dialed in that I couldn't park it anywhere. That was in the day before all the Honda ricers and H2O VWs were the shit. Problem was you could steal them with a flat blade screwdriver and a penny.

I think it might be a good option for you.
