Best answer yet, IMO. I'd trade the E30 for one of those, even if only temporarily. Or maybe a Pulsar GTiR. Never driven one, only seen one in person. But that is a cool little car.

Just bought my first e30. The only thing I could compare it with just by very little margin would be my first car which was a 1992 Acura vigor GS I tried looking long and hard for them and no luck definitely a hard find in Canada anyway. But the drive is amazing. Handling is unreal. And they to come stock with 2.5l straight 6 motor. I know I know... Japanese vs a German can't really compare but definitely an amazing boxy amazing handling good gas mileage and extremely reliably.

you know, a E34 540i6 would be pretty good. I recently drove a friends and had a blast. A replacement for the E30? not really, but a good addition? absolutely

All I know is that my friend's e30 M3 was a ball to ride in. But as soon as I threw my jalopy e34 540/6 around the same corner, I knew I was in a car that is a hooligan in a sport coat. Stupid fun.

If it doesnt have to be exactly the same type of car id say a Lancia Delta Integrale is a good E30M3 Replacement.
