    Out of these 4 brands, which brake pads are for me?

    Ok here is what I want in a pad for my 85 eta:

    Something that has a high coefficient of friction, ya know? something that has good stopping with minimal pedal pressure.

    I don't care how long they last, because it's not a big deal to change them.
    I don't care about dust because my wheels are black, and they look better with dust anyway.
    Fade resistance would be good, but not too important because it's a daily driver.

    Out of these four brands of stock pads, which one would have most of the traits described above.
    Jurid
    ATE
    Pagid
    Mintex

    Or if you have a pad that fits my needs, I'm open to suggestions.

    I'd run an Axxis/PBR MetalMaster. They will do fine on the street, and are relatively cheap. I just picked up a set for $38 (fronts).

      Are those a metallic pad?
      Do they fullfill my requirements?

        Jurid is the main OE supplier. They fit your needs. Mintex is what I use, they fit your needs as well.

          Are all of these pads of a metallic nature?

            Im not sure about the metalic nature, but I second the PBRs baby. My friend runs them on his jetta and says they are great. My dad also recommends, he is a Professional Engineer. He works at Federal Mogul in the brake R+D department, and they make some of the PBR stuff. They are relatively affordable as well. If you have any more brake Questions let me know and I can relay them with my dad.

              From what I've read, Axxis Ultimates are an all around great pad, for street and the track.
              Anyone have comments on these?

                I highly recommend AGAINST the PBR Metalmaster pads. They might be fine for the street, but they scared the crap out of me at Buttonwillow a years or so ago., and don't feel as good for daily driving, either. Laugh if you want, but the stock pads are much better, IMHO.

                The price may be right, but I wouldn't skimp here. I threw mine in the garbage with less than 1000 miles on them.

                    i'd person ally go with pbr metal masters, works great for me, improvered braking, less dust and cheap 32cdn *my cost ;)*

                      Im curious as to what the rest of your brake set-up was like. What rotors were you running? Anything else different? I personally dont have any experience with track racing and these pads, but even after rush hour stop and go traffic, my friend doesnt notice any fade what-so-ever. Also what wheels are you running? Wheels with more openings really do affect brake cooling.

                      Your problem was one of the biggest reasons porsche went to ceramic brakes. Sure they cost a few thousand bucks to replace everything with good quality, but they will hardly ever fade, even if the damn rotor is glowing red.

                      I personally dont do a lot of heavy braking, but my car is due for all new brakes, I'll have to reconsole with my dad, but I will let you know what I decide to get.

                      By the way, what did you replace your pads with?

                        I had several thousand miles with my PBRs after lots of spirited driving and getting them heated up while practicing multiple braking maneuvers and whatnot. I had them with ATE powerslots in the front and OEM rotors in the rear. It beats me how they didn't turn out good for you.

                            I've heard very good things about them. I run PBR metalmasters too, with the hope of eating up my rotors and justifying a big brake kit.

                            Not sure about price. All my usual sources (eap4parts, bimmerparts, etc.) don't carry..
