Getting old, new to the E30 Scene

    Hi.
New to the E30 Scene. I've had a number of fun cars each one offered something unique and memorable (good and bad). I've owned a Mazda MS3 (I was young = speeding tickets), MKV R32 (unique, left me stranded on the side of the road), MKVI GTI (still own, grocery store kart magnet :() and now an E30 Vert. My father found it on the side of the road and kept it well maintained for a number of years. He has since upgraded and he gave me first dibs. I am the fourth owner. It needs some work, but drivable. I have plans for it, but I'm in no rush as I just want to enjoy driving the car while the weather is nice. I don't post much because I'm in the career and family stage of my life. No complaints, I just don't keep up with posts. In fact, I probably have a month old thread over at VWVortex waiting for my response ..... Anyways that's the end of my single barrel bourbon. Bed Time.

1991 E30 318i VERT. 141k miles. Original paint. New top. Leather interior is holding up really well. Motor is strong. Car drives well, which is the best part. I'll get a photo up here (don't hold your breath).

I will probably be looking for some good posts for the following noticeable issues so far:
All of the seals need replacing, but no major oil leaks. I think I have a rear wheel bearing going. Drivers side door seems to sag ever so slightly. I actually had a hell of a time getting used to first gear. The car does not want to be rolling at all when engaging first so it made awful noises at me going into 1st gear. The car stalls when coming to a stop or RPMs fluctuate at idle. This usually only happens after it has been sitting for awhile or after a long highway drive. So there is some work to do. First order of business is pads and rotors to eliminate pulsating brakes. Suggestions?

Shit there's a few of us at the same stage and we still manage to whore it up on here. My wife tells me R3v is my facebook. Which is true because I'm never on facebook.

Nice looking rides, but you can't be THAT old if you were "young" when you had a MS3.

As far as suggestions go, the first one is always.

Timing belt, timing belt, timing, belt.

Fuck the brakes, replace the timing belt. All too many new members show up here with their first E30, and withing a few weeks are looking for a new cylinder head. The m20 isn't like many engines, the timing belt WILL break and it WILL break BEFORE you "get around to it."

      He doesn't have a timing belt. He's got a 318 car.

But anyways where's the fun cars? Lol just kidding, we all have different taste in cars.

I suppose I'm not that old; more so balancing with other life priorities. Of course a few too many injuries makes it feel that way sometimes.

I don't have the greatest photos of the car, and I probably should have taken pictures after an interior scrub.

Yes that is from DOD this year. The red E30 in the background is a good friend of mine.
