Im doing the plastic bumper coversion in the rear and i found a guy that is selling one for 70. It has the trim and the bumper is in pretty good shape. Now that is all im getting for the 70, the bumper and trim, no screws or nothing. Is that good?

Do the screws from the diving board fit into the plastics? Isnt there suppose to be some sort of support under the bumper?

There is the bumper skin and then the actual whitish fiberglass bumper. the bolts and brackets are on the whitish fiberglass support.

Did you just get the skin?

I havent bought it yet, i wanted to find out first what is missing since i have never seen a plastic bumper off a late model car. All the guy is selling is the skin like you said and the trim.

Ah, then you need the bumper shocks, the mounts that go onto the sides of your valance, the bumper support (white fiberglass), , bolts to go into the bumper support (metal bumper ones are different) and some expanding rivets to hold the skin to the support.

What year are you doing this to? If its an 87 or older there is more involved. I just swapped min on my 88 and lucky for me 88's are a direct swap.

Im doing the plastic bumper conversion. I know its different and its not a direct bolt on process. Since i need all those things im just going to head to a walk in junkyard and take it off. Im also going to get the late model apron since the early model without an apron looks a little like the E21. Thanks for the help man.

Uh good luck removing the late model apron -- you will need a
blowtorch in the junkyard since it's welded on / integrated into the body of the later cars.

To make your swap tp plastics look good on an earlier model car, you'll need to buy an aftermarket bolt-on rear apron also from somewhere.
