Ive purchased 2 E30's. 84/87 325's. Both AW. I can honestly say, I love working on my 87. my 84 is destroyed. twas a parts car.

But I have yet to get out and drive my 87. Got it with a bad m20. bought the 84 with a good m20 and a bad auto trans.

The most I've driven an E30 so far in the 14 months I've owned one, was reversing it from my trailer into my garage.

Life gets in the way. But when I want to turn off, escape from the BS of my corporate job, and get my F'n hands dirty.. into the garage I go.

I've got 2 other vehicles, My DD is a truck given to me for work, my other vehicle is a cherokee I drive on the weekends. So I don't NEED to have a project car. I just want one.

I DD my bmw and every time i fix something thats been broken since before i owned the car, i can feel my quality of life going up a bit. My e36 was in original shape, being kept up through the years and had this feeling of being well put together and felt more like a car from 2005 rather than 1995. My e30 didnt have this feeling until very recently, after id done the suspension and interior and all the rest. So is it worth fixing up the car to enjoy it? It sure doesnt feel like it in the months when the car looks like shit, but then again i dont find myself looking at newer cars. Theres just something special about older cars

We as a family just have the one car that I bought not long after we moved from Australia to Canada. 1990 325i touring auto. The wife and two kids have been using it for daily duties while I ride a bike to work. Does it need work? Yes of course. But has it left us stranded. No. I tried buying a normal car for the family but they are just too boring. I have had to get my hands dirty twice to fix a fuel leak and a coolant leak, but luckily they were minor. I guess we are living life on the edge :)
I do wish all the repairs and maintenance were done so I can do fun stuff, I guess it will happen sooner or later.

1988 M3 Lachssilber: I'm the second owner, currently recommissioning.
