I bet your excited to get it done....I would think a heavier engine, like an s50 would help with the heavy ass of a vert.....interesting...keep us posted:)

Car looks horrible, just give up the project, and forget the s50 in that thing. Do something with that 850 in driveway and yank the motor and tranny out of it and use that in the vert...lol yeah baby!!!

Ps. I'll take that s50 off your hands for yeah.

Looks great! Interested to see the progress as well.

I know that BMW put the battery in the front of cabrios in order to offset the weight of the rear reinforcement and folding top, however with the heavier motor up there, I'd send that thing to the trunk. You can put the battery in the trunk of vert's right?

Yea, you can put the battery in the trunk of verts, you just have to unbolt the completely useless 50lb steel block they put back there. It makes a very good paperweight.

Also, I demand that you keep us periodically updated. Your project is just too cool to evaporate into the archives.

Very awesome, I cant wait to see this done. Do m3 cabrios just have the regular trunk lid or is it the same as the m3 coupes?

Sweet ass car! Love what ur doin to it. If you don't mind can you tell me where you got all the sheet metal for the m3 conversion. I was planning on doing some of the bodywork on my car and it'd help me out alot. Thanx

Thanks for all the great comments guys! I bought the rear quarters from fiberartz in new york, and the rest of the parts came from junk yards. I attached the rear quarters today and the side skirts so she has the right shape now. The next step is preping for paint, I have a lot of sanding to do and even more body filler to smooth out but it will definetly be worth it in a month or so! I will try to get some pics before it gets put into primer.

On another note? I am going to be staying with the stock alpine white II paint and the interior door panels and carpet will be black, but what does everyone think for seat leather color? I was either going to go all black or maybe something like the cinnamon color leather in the e46 M3. Let me know what you guys think.

                          Thanks,
                          Ryan
