    Vinyl Wrap questions

Cost of material? different grades correct? How long does material last? DIY or have shop do it without being butt hurt.

I have a rat presently and not happy driving a turd box looking car.

      Hi.

Depending on material (leaders as of right now are 3M or Avery) and color you want. Since you are wrapping the car you will have to pay a bit extra for width of material (60") to ensure full coverage when it comes to parts like hood, etc.

I can request a catalog of colors and products from Fellers and order from there. The prices for 60" range from 450-800$. Again depends on what brand and material.

Do not get 'cheaper' versions of vinyl, you want the latest and the greatest (one way air channels, flexibility, exposure rating etc).

Vinyl longevity depends on exposure to UV. I think vertical applications last 12~ years. If your car is garaged you don't have to worry about that:

I also recommend getting manufacturer approved products to extend the life of your vinyl and limit damage due to UV exposure.

You'll need to seam the rear pillars, as the roof connects to the quarter panels. Best way is to do the Fenders first, then wrap the roof so the seam faces down out of sight.

I would probably just spend the extra money and get a real paint job.
