    Really weird problem...

I normally wouldnt post a stupid problem like this but I am totally out of ideas.

A while back my diagnostic port slipped off the ledge it was on and hit my exhaust manifold and melted the plastic cover a bit. I was able to unscrew and screw it on without too much trouble. But now, the cap it stuck on. I cannot unscrew it for the life of me. I have tried strap wrenches and everything to try and get it off.

Does anyone have a bright idea how I could get the cap off? Like I said I have run out.

have you tried to unscrew the cap after a heatsoak?

Get a heat gun and run it back and forth around the diagnostic port's cap -Key is to keep it moving AND away from any fuel related lines!
Then while keeping it hot use a big set of channel locks on it with the jaws really wide. Perhaps a freind on the channel locks and you on the heat gun. Should come off that way.

Seems like a good idea, I would just worry about melting the cap on even more after doing it, but it seems like the best idea right now.

What you want is the two different pieces of plastic to heat at different rates. The cap need to expand so it needs heat. The base needs to constrict so cool, cool, cool is the goal with that....

W00t, ive been busy but I just got it off today. Used a blow torch and made the flame very low, ran it around the outside of the cap. Used a strap wrench and cranked on it for a bit and I got it off.

Now I know I have an o2 code AGAIN!! This is really starting to piss me off....
