    Timing Belt? Where to get this replaced? Question!

    Hey everyone,
    Since I just bought the 325es for 600 I have absolutely loved it. I truly has amazed me with its potential and the price I paid for it. Of course there is a catch for that price. There is a dent in the back right of the car from a fender bender the driver got into the day before I was going to buy the car. Therefore he knocked off 1700 and we made it a deal. Anyways, before the accident there was a problem with the back right wheel. In first gear or when I gun it the back right tire makes a noise. Now I don't THINK it is the wheel bearing but it could be. I was thinking more along the lines of the differential, but let me know what you guys think it could be. Anyhow, where should I get the timing belt replaced? Please let me know.

        If you aren't absolutely sure that the timing belt/water pump was replaced recently, go ahead and get it done to be on the safe side. If the t-belt goes, your engine wil most likely be toast. If you have even a small amount of experience working on cars, and a warm place to work, you should give it a shot yourself. Get yourself a Bentley manual, a new timing belt and timing belt tensioner, and a new water pump. Its not a bad idea to replace the coolant hoses, the distributer cap, and the rotor while you're in there. Removing the hood and radiator makes things a lot easier, too.           just make sure that all the gears stay in EXACTLY the same place when you take the timing belt off as when you put it on.

            It already has an LSD and its a 2.93 LS.

            But are you saying he should swap another Diff in there if so then go with a 3.25 i have heard pretty good things about 3.25's in Etas.

              There are marks for TDC on the crankshaft and camshaft gears, though, so if you do happen to move them, you can line them back up pretty easily. It always is a tense moment the first time you start the car after doing it. Makes me cringe.

                    Its a great feeling when you start it and nothing emplodes. haha
                    The timing belt was the first big thing I ever did to my car. Good experience though.
