I'm thinking about driving down from Maine. My car is pretty low, thats my only concern. Just doing a valve adjustment / oil change really before leaving. My car has never left me stranded. Drove from ME to NC last year in my old E30 which WAS unreliable, and made it there and back. I wouldn't be worried. Should be a fun time, and I hope to meet some R3v folks while I'm down there.

Keep an eye out, I'll be the E30 with Maine plates. ;)

That definitely gives me a lot more confidence going in! I'll definitely keep a look out for ya! I'm the white iX with NY "DirtyE30" plates.

Three months ago I made the epic cross-country voyage from Kentucky to California. Things to have: water, small metric tool kit, jack/lug wrench, extra coolant/engine oil/ATF, hard copy map, planned rest stops to inspect your car. I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple things but overall have fun and understand that if your e30 has been well cared for it'll bust out the road with ease. In Germany they engineer these cars to run on the autobahn and similar roads at high speeds for hours at end. Have fun!Comment

It will have wider wheels when you see it. Not on stock anymore. ;)

These were taken a week or so ago, right before I ripped my iS lip clean off.

Man, last year I drove the e30 from SFL to Ocean City without a hickup. If I had to do it again though I'd probably bring an extra fuel pump. I started to get a loud fuel pump whine about 1000 miles into the trip. Wouldn't hurt to have & you should be able to return it if you don't use it.

Other than that, some essentials IMO are: floor jack, jack stands, 3 gallons of water, tool bag, poncho incase you gotta work on the car and it's raining, 5 qts of oil, spark plugs, spare V belts, jumper cables, jb weld, spare light bulbs, duct tape, spare tire, and brake fluid.
