    In shock

Alright, so here I am on my daily commute from Burlingame to Foster City to my job. Been driving for about 15 minutes when all of the sudden, I see a grey e30 m3. Looked like a normal e30 m3 from a distance. I catch up to give the owner a thumbs up, but then I notice it has a hardtop and I freak out. Tried taking a picture but behind me was CHP. I really want to know if this was an original vert e30 m3. Owner was nice though, we exchanged thumbs up as he drove off. My question, how many e30 m3 Verts are in the states? And if the owner is on here somewhere, I would love to get a closer look of your car. Replica or not.

i don't know this car personally, but i highly doubt it was original. there are very very few originals (perhaps as many as you can count on one hand) and lots of fakes here in this country. still, though, a nice car is a nice car especially if its an e30

I know the chances are EXTREMELY slim that it was original. It just really, and I mean really, caught me off guard.

in burlingame on i think california st, there is a REALLY nice bmw shop called autohaus exec. he fixes a lot of e30's and 2002's. i was there on an overnight about a month ago. i stopped in and chatted with the owner for about 40 minutes or so. he seemed like a really good guy.

Yeah I live about a mile or so from there. They do really good work. I almost bought an e30 from there before I picked up the one I have now

Is this the guy who makes tons of really vague craigslist ads for parts he's selling, never with photos?

I dropped by there once to ask about some engine work and the guy really sketched me out.

We may be talking about a different person. Doesn't really seem like the type of guy that would sketch anyone out, but then again I've only dealt with him twice. So I don't really have a good basis to judge yet

Well that just makes the chances even slimmer. Oh well. One day I'll see one.

How do you know so much about Burlingame living all the way over Texas?? :D The car your talking about OP, I've never seen in person, but it goes to a shop in Sunnyvale frequently (according to two buddy's I've talked with who have also spotted it). Owner claims its a real M3, If anyone is on the Facebook group (and you really shouldn't be, it's an embarrassment to the R3v name) it was posted there a couple weeks back.

                      Edit: Couple months back

i travel....a lot! when we overnight in san francisco, the company puts us in that holiday inn express on the water front in burlingame. since i am not a guy to sit around in my hotel and jack it for hours at a time, i like to get out and explore. it just so happens this little shop is something i happened across in my ventures.

by the way, to anyone reading this....if you do find yourself in burlingame, ca, there is this incredibly awesome little japanese ramen house called hanabi just down the street from the bmw shop.

I don't know exact numbers, but I could have sworn that the total number of them ever produced was in the hundreds. It would be cool if real, though there is a local rep E30 M3 convertible in grey also, so I wouldn't be too surprised if fake.

who cars if its 'real' or 'fake', e30 m3s are cool cars and not common in any form.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
If it tells you, 'technically its a mallard', its probably an asshole.
