OK, so I have a tiny bit o' cash to throw at the POS.
My main concern is the camber issue, both front and rear. My other main issue is the shot-to-shit rack.
I really want to do the rear kit(s) from IE.
I need to do subframe bushings.
I want to raise the front of my car 1/2", and fix the excess tire wear from too much negative camber...and...
I wanna do an E36 rack. Or, at least a less shitty E30 rack.
I have to do something about the steering, it is terrible. The clunking from the back is horrible. I am sick to death of scraping everywhere I go, plus the "dartiness" makes the car too demanding...I can't eat, drink coffee, smoke cigarettes, yak on the cell phone AND drive...need better stability.
Here is what I am feeling...do the E36 rack, used, with decent tie rod ends. Do a set of IE (or something) camber plates, upside down, so they take some negative camber out (help me here, fellas, is that right? Can I do that?) to improve tire wear and make turn in slower.
Wait until I have some more spare dough to do the rear, then do bushings, brace the arms, do the IE kits for toe and camber.
Would replacing the front and rear subframe bushings help take out some negative camber by some magical shit I don't understand?
Sway bars after that. This fucker has to roll less, and keep the nice soft ride.
I am only a poser driving this car, guys. I will likely never autoX, maybe once or twice. My Dorift-o skills just aren't there. I like to haul ass through an occasional canyon or mountain road, but mostly, I drive pretty mellow. I do TONS of freeway miles, so the tire wear factor matters more than corner carving ability.
So, waddaya think? Anyone have a set of camber plates they wanna upgrade? Anyone have a decent E36 rack or a really nice E30 rack they wanna sell?
Basically, everything is worn out on this poor old car.
Hit me back with your ideas.
Luke
