    Engine builder

    Hi Guys

I am looking for a shop or a good do it yourselfer to rebuild an M20 engine.

I am local to Houston Tx, and that would be my preferred location, although I can ship this bad boy if I find the right folks to do the work.

I would even pay to have someone do it at my home as I have just about everything, lift, compressor, engine stands and so on. Just not the knowledge on the rebuild.

Anyway, if you have any suggestions please pass them my way.

    Thanks in Advance.

Man you did the hard part already! If you have all the equipment like stands/ hoists you can rebuild an m20. Some things are more complex like rebuilding the head because that needs machine work but if you have the tools and everything checks out then it's just replacing the crappy old parts.

You would think that would be the case. I hauled it apart and had it machined. Had the crank turned, new pistons and rods.

Shrick cam new springs, started and was running fine or so I thought. Something let go, haven't torn it down yet!

Want someone who really knows this time.

You may have more luck with finding forum handy man or a good shop recommendation in your regions sub-category.

BTW welcome to the forum Raygun!

I am pretty confident that the block and head are good. I want to use upgraded internals as we race this thing a lot. Or at least used to!

This is what it looked like in our first race.

A few races later. Excuse the wing!!

This is what she looks like now, 13 races later.

I know she looks like junk but she is a an all out racing machine. We have won a true 24 hour race and in the top ten of a handful of others.

Just need to get her back up to speed!

The cab is chopped on that thing too, right?

                          It looks like a truck.

But just think of the loss of structural rigidity when you chop the top off. That thing must have one heavy ass cage in it.
