maybe it was m-techII? not really widebody, but it makes the lower part of the car chunkier. or was it like flared wheel arches and stuff?

it coulda been that, musta been, the fenders werent really flared all and like you said the bottom of the car just looked chunkier (below the quarter panels)

I found this kit on bf.c and he sells them for $2500 for the full kit. The rear quarters alone are $800 I think...

I saw some of these E30's in Germany last month when we were there racing in the Nuburgring 24 race...they don't look right (rear guards were pop rivetted onto the excisting skin ... you do need the extra long roofline and shortened boot to make them look finished, just like the silver M3 at the top of this post with the evo wing with adjustable gurney flap.
Having said all that if you're going purely for something different that red 325is looks pretty phat!

Well, Mike's car isn't exactly a showcar...Imagine this was more of a Form following Function type modification for extra wheel width and weight savings.

                  And Jake, please?!

And yes that car Jake (Streetspec) posted is M-Tech II. It doesn't widen the body, but is simply a kit. Note my sig with an M-Tech II valence, but stock bumper.
