More details on the M62 swap please Mr Burns. Looks like aftermarket brake setup instead of the usual remote booster move.. what's that on the pass side valve cover? Just part of the engine cover? If so what finish is that?
If there's a build thread please point us ;-)

Totally digging the M62.. had one in the garage and sold it due to too many projects :-( still have the M5 tranny clutch driveshaft tho lol.
Mtech1 in progress finally on my end too! Body kit is at the paint shop including rear spoiler and repro vert side skirts. I have a clean trunk lid with IS spoiler holes getting painted too. What a boat ton of work to prep.. those beautiful triple slots ugh.
Bumpers getting painted as well and shadowline trim all set to go.

... I washed it. And put in the rear window lockstrip.
Trying to get back into it, the finish line is in sight but there are a couple of nontrivial projects in the way. The major one is powerwashing the bay, grinding out the rust in the battery tray, cutting out a bunch of superfluous bracketry, priming and painting the bay.
One interesting blocker is the AC system is annoyingly full of R12 and I'm not sure how to get it out in a controlled fashion.Last edited by bradnic; 03-20-2017, 06:15 PM.

started the shadow line conversion. new shadow line deck lid, fender and quarter trim, refurbished shadowline door trim off a 318is, rough sanded and painted bright trim on top of doors, quarters and A pillars.
Originally posted by bradnic View PostAlso worked on the shadow line trim for the driver's door. I have new bright trim for both doors and quarters, so I decided to just rough sand
the existing trim and experiment with some SEM black trim paint.
original trim
rough sanded with 500 grit paper, then applied the trim paint. It was too glossy but some light sanding with 1200 grit took care of that. also took 1200 grit to the existing shadow line belt line door trim I had. It matched the gloss and color of the new quarter panel shadowline trim perfectly after sanding.
here's a quick trial fit. still a lot to do but we like it, and if we get tired of it I have a new set of bright trim waiting for the car.
next steps:
-- finish door assembly
-- paint/dye carpet, paint rear quarters and top deck lid vinyl bits
-- shadowline on other door and deck lid
-- repair pass door window regulator (slips down and makes noise when at top position).Last edited by bradnic; 09-02-2017, 11:49 AM.

Notice no side markers on his model.

Mtec1 did not come in that color, so that will be a dealer add on.

I have a true Euro-spec 88 cabrio with a full (minus spoiler) M Tech 1 kit I'm considering selling with the euro bumpers and Zender rear spoiler.
