When I think of some of the "newer" and "more reliable" cars I've owned compared to my E30 or a couple of other old Bimmers I have worked on I draw the following conclusions:
1. I probably work on the E30 more than I had to with those other cars.
2. Half the time I am "working" on the E30 I am having fun.
3. I can tackle issues on the E30 that would have been difficult to impossible on my newer vehicles.
4. Parts (though sometimes harder to fine) are usually cheaper and I have yet to have to replace a black-box costing hundreds of dollars.
5. Window regulators on all cars regardless of age SUCK to work on.
6. The engine is installed in the proper direction with plenty of room in the engine bay. If it blows up tomorrow I will source another working engine and do a swap.
7. Power goes to the correct end of the car (making it fun as hell to drive :))
