Hello. New to the forum this is my first post.
I've searched the topic and I can't seem to find any with my situation, or at least my searches have come up empty. when I purchased the car back in August it came with two Keyes. One to open the car and one to start it. I noticed the keyes were starting to bend even the steel ignition key and it was getting harder to unlock the car and I didn't want either keys to to break. I decided to head to my dealer to have a key made I figured I'd have it cut to code and either fix the door locks or ignition. I got the key and it worked like a charm on all my doors trunk and glove box so I knew if need to have my ignition re keyed.
I used this procedure to remove and disassemble the ignition.
Purchased a re key set and Re keyed the ignition. however when I went to put it back in I was fiddling with it trying to get it to seat correctly I somehow managed to pull out the spring loaded part that actually turns the car on and locks/unlocks the wheel along with a small plastic piece.
I tried to put it back but in doing so I broke the small plastic piece I super glued it back and now I'm asking for your help or insight on how to put it back together. I'm thinking I'm going to have to remove the steering wheel and pull the ignition lock and try to reassemble that way but I'd like to try and see if anyone has another method sorry for the wall of text and thank for any and all help I appreciate it.
