    325ix diff

    can you use a 325ix diff in a reg 325is is there any benifit

    yes, you can put a 325ix diff into your 325is.

    You wil benefit from quicker accelleration due to lower gearing, but will suffer in gas milage due to higher rpms on the freeway.

    Also, it depends which ix diff you get. I believe the auto got the 4.10 LSD and the manual got the 3.91 LSD. Both are lower gears than your 3.73 LSD in your 325is.

        they have some differences, but you can interchange them.

        The ix uses a viscus type LSD, whereas all of the other e30s use a clutch type LSD.

            No but I put my 3.91 V from my IX into my 91 318i over las weekend and it rocks on the highway thats for sure, 3400 at 80mph, gas meter pinned at 30mpg
