    headlight switch question

So my headlight switch on my e30 was going bad so i bought a new one from a guy on here. i told him i needed one for an 88. it could have come from any 88-91 e30, but he sent me an 84-86 switch. will this work in my 88? i really dont want to have to go get yet another switch since i want to be able to use my switch reliably but i'll need to if this one won't work.

if it doesn't, anyone need a good 84-86 switch??

I am pretty sure it will work, you can always try it. You dont have to install it 100% to check it just plug it in under the dash and test it. Also you can test the part numbers on realoem.com

Connectors are different. Won't even come close to plugging in.
