Got my box last week, arrived timely and as advertised. Didn't need to send a single email, PM or FB message. I actually bought the damn thing because of this thread. I may not be "OG r3v" but I've been here long enough to see what happens when someone tries to screw the entire e30 community over. Luke may be old and grumpy :) but he's not stupid.
Now I have to go and scrape out some trunk tar!Leave a comment:

welpp, i got my box today, no issues except for shipping delay (stupid weather)
as for 330, i think anything should be refunded and returned if it hasnt been already, and they should find someone else to build them a box, as for the "threat" for lack of a better word, i think that 330 should be banned, its not e30 related, go post it on your own forum.Leave a comment:

Id love to, but I don't have a model.
No test fit car, no box. Measurements are gone, lost them in the great hard drive crash of 2014.
If you read what I posted, you would have seen that.Leave a comment:

Regarding "Steady 330".....Can I ask an oblivious question? Why not just build the guy a new box and eat the shipping costs? I'm sure you rather not to refund him, so what does 1/2 a sheet of MDF going to set you back? $20 and an hour of your time? Sometimes it best just to take a loss and walk away - and don't give me "it's the principal" BS - it's just a logical business decision.
Rolling eyes.

Thank you, and yes, I am a terrible "businessman", which is pretty obvious...nobody sane would attempt to do what I do.First of all, no need to attack him personally. Luke is a pretty decent mechanic and a damn artest when it comes to stereos! However, is a horrible business owner. When providing this as a hobby, he did great. But like any great product that requires lots of labor, the short comings of a small business bleeds through. Luke is going through a lot it seems. Does this excuse his behavior and lack of communication, no. But, he is human after all, and slowly and surly trying to right his wrongs from what I can see.
Give the dude a break and PM him to resolve any issues. Or simply don't buy from him if you don't like him. He's proven, he's still around and willing to keep this going.
Just from what I've experienced.Leave a comment:

Here's the message "Steady 330" sent me after I told her in no uncertain terms that I didn't have a test mule to build her son anew box with:
"My entire extended family is in law. I'll simply send you a Sherriff's summons for a Federal tort claim for breach of contract under the Interstate Commerce Act - expect this from the Eastern District in Richmond, Virginia. I shall also file with your State's Attorney General for potential criminal action and civil arbitration. You should closely check your text logs, including the phone you have since turned off/blocked/eliminated. Those logs reveal you have accepted responsibility for sending the incorrect box, replacing that box, and for me to not send back the originals, because of excess shipping costs. Under federal jurisdiction laws governing the Interstate Commerce Act, you shall be required to attend court in person and that will be Richmond, VA - where this case has standing. You've chosen to rip off the wrong 18 year old and Karma will prevail...if by legal stress. Provide the name/address of your attorney and I shall have one of mine reach out."Leave a comment:

I would agree with some of that, but the issue for those with complaints seems to be that no matter how or where they contact him, they are not getting a response. From Lukes POV, I am going to assume based on unrelated personal expirence, that there are customers who are "overzelous" about a response and required level of contact.Leave a comment:

Quoted in their entirety for context.
Luke has this entirely wrong, and he is using the 'street credit' from customers he DOES treat correctly to help steamroll those of us he feels like crushing.
Luke received my funds ($375) on Dec 2. He told me at that time he had the box/rack in stock. A few days later, he said he was mistaken. Then he said his heater went out in the shop and could not build one until that problem was fixed. Then on Dec 22, we received a box that was clearly not for an e46. So goes my 18 y/o son's Christmas present. Oh well. No worries, he called Luke and sent pics, and Luke profusely apologized and gave SEVERAL excuses. Luke said he was going to 'make it right.' After MANY excuses why (e.g., Hard drive crashed, back-up hard drive crashed, paper measurements lost, etc., etc.), Luke asserted he would be receiving an e46 to measure, then that car crashed, then other e46 samples weren't available, etc., etc....after 4 months, my son's car's stereo remained in pieces. No end in sight. Luke quit responding to monthly check-ins. Number disconnected. No refund of $375. Then we heard Luke was 'all better' because he was able to make a 'deal' with California to skirt out of $175,000 of back child support. Cool, I suppose. At least my son wasn't the only child he gave the BIG old shaft to.
Luke you aren't a good dude. You have fans, yes. I'll give you that. And they help you shaft the rest of us, by chiming in with fan accolades, and you eat that up and encourage it. But you aren't even close to being an honest human being. Perhaps that is why chaos surrounds you.Rouvld -
My son is also not one to rip off, but Luke throws caution to the wind I suppose and assumes folks from far away won't reach out and get even. Coward he is.
Luke is of the sort who leverages his fan club to STEAMROLL those of us he feels like shafting. He has our funds and we have pure crap. Heavy crap not worth the shipping cost to return, and he knows it and flaunts the situation in our faces. The honorable thing for Luke to do is return the funds and if he wants his heavy MDF box/rack back, he should send a shipping label - but he won't, because there is not an once of honor in this dude.
To Luke's fan base = you give him the leverage to shaft people, and Luke laps that stuff up like a hungry dog. He needs you and he uses you. He's a liar and one day, my son may indeed meet him at a BMW event somewhere (son is 6'5" and plays div I inside def back this fall). Just saying, Luke, you can't expect to keep getting one over on people. Karma is real.Leave a comment:
