We'll be selling ours in 3/4 months. Once testing is over and I have had a chance to take it to the track and a few shows. It's won't be cheap though.

The first car I thought I wanted to purchase was a 87 325is with some issues and stock suspension. The second was a nice silver one that was lowered, but interior was in bad shape, but it was cheap enough. Decided to hold out as the paint was in poor shape.
Story continues.....called Boston, there was a tuned E30 with some rust issues.....etc etc.
Finally, after about two months, the final month checking about 12 BMW websites and forums daily, I found my car. I emailed the owner THE DAY he posted it for sale, and wanted to buy it that weekend. We had to schedule it, but I had it about two weeks later. (Involved a four hour drive to pick it up, but awesome 3.5 hour ride home!)
Do you have the money ready? If you find the right car, you should be ready for it. But don't be too forward as you might regret it. Don't rush it. Hold out for a good condition late model is with perhaps some mods.
Patience is key: 1990 325is with 118K, 16" Borbets + new tires, weaves w/ blizzaks, Ground Control, Camber Plates, Dinan Chip, Alpine CD/Infinity Speakers......$3500.
Good things do come to those who wait

It took me 2 and half years to find a perfect 240sx, and I still havent found one, after pasha(e30sd), my next door neighboor, took me on a canyon run, a week later I bought a 325is and ditched the 240sx drifting/scene that ive been involved with for 3 years. You will find an IS soon, and the difference between an i and an is isnt really that substantial, most of the stuff you could put on yourself(sport seats, is lip, etc.).

Research, Research, Research, oh did i mention research? When the transition from 240sx to e30 came, I wanted to buy the ones that didnt have the bumpers sticking out(didnt knew it was called diving boards back then), so i found one, but after two weeks of owning the car, i found out that it was tucked bumpers and not the 89-91 bumpers. So my advice is research everything before purchasing the car, and get to know the e30 before you buy it!!
